Σε πολλούς εκτυπωτές απαιτείται να πατήσετε και να κρατήσετε πατημένο για 5-10 δευτερόλεπτα το κουμπί RESUME, STOP/RESET, or COLOR START(μια φορά για το μαύρο και μια για το έγχρωμο, όχι κάθε φορά).
Some printers that accept Canon PG40 / CL41 style inkjet cartridges won't recognize the refilled cartridge. This seems to happen more so with Canon printers that have a fax function.
Here are some printer reset methods that seem to be working for some Canon models (other models may also apply)
This procedure has been known to work in the Canon MP-160 / MX-300 (and possibly other models):
1. Disconnect the power, the hold down the power button while you connect the power back on to the printer
2. With the power button still down, press twice the "Cancel/Stop" button
3. Release the power button
4. Wait for a few seconds until printer enters "Idle" mode
5. Press the right arrow (next to the "OK" button) once."Shipping Mode 3"
6. Press "OK"
7. Press "OK" again for "Without cleaning"
8. A test page will print.
9. Open the cover, the cartridges will shift
10. Disconnect the power cable again.
11. Take out both cartridges.
12. Close the cover
13. Connect the power cable once again.
14. Turn the printer on and reinsert the cartridges
This procedure has been known to work in the Canon MP-460 - JX200 (and possibly other models):
1. Disconnect the power cable
2. Hold down power button
3. Reconnect the power cable
4. With the power button still down, press twice the “Cancel/Stop” red button
5. Release the power button
6. The printer is now in factory mode...(wait about 30 seconds until it says “idle”)
7. Press the down arrow (next to the “OK” button) until it says “Shipping Mode 1”
8. Press the “OK” Button
9. Now with it displaying “Without Cleaning” press the power button
10. A test page should print
11. Now open cover
12. Disconnect the power cable again.
13. Take out both cartridges.
14. Close the cover
15. Connect the power cable once again.
16. Turn the printer on and reinsert the cartridges
This procedure has been known to work in the Canon MP-470 (and possibly other models):
1. Unplug the power to the printer
2. Hold down the "On/Off" button.
3. Plug the printer back on by plugging in the power and holding down the power button (see next step)
4. With the power button still down, press the STOP/RESET button twice.
5. Release the "On/Off" button.
6. The printer is now in "factory mode", wait a few seconds for printer to enter idle mode
7. Press the right arrow button repeatedly until Shipping Mode is displayed.
8. Press OK
9. Wait until "Without Cleaning" is displayed and then presss the "reset button" once and then press **OK** button once.
10. A test page will print.
11. Open the cover and the cartridges will shift to the left
12. Disconnect the power cable.
13. Remove the cartridges.
14. Close the cover.
15. Reconnect the power cable.
16. Press the "On/Off" button once, then set the language and you will see a message to set ink.
17. Open the cover and insert cartridges.
Here is an over-ride solution by Canon to get Canon inkjet printers to accept refilled Canon PG-30 / CL-31 / PG-40 / CL-41 / PG-50 / CL-51 ink cartridges:

Install cartridge.
Message 1:
“The ink cartridge has been installed or replaced. If the
print out contains misaligned lines or is not satisfactory
after the installation or replacement, refer to the user’s
guide and carry out the print head alignment.”
OK
Click OK to continue. Printer will start printing.
If second message appears and yellow light flashes:
“The following may have run out of color. The function for
detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled since the
ink level cannot be correctly detected. If you want to
continue printing with out this function, press the printer’s
resume button for at least 5 seconds. Canon recommends
using new genuine Canon cartridges in order to obtain
optimum quality. Please be advised that Canon shall not
be liable for any malfunction or trouble caused by continuation
of printing under the ink out condition.”
Cancel Printing About ink
Do not click “cancel printing”. Press and hold down
printer resume button until the yellow light disappears and
the green light stays on. Printer will start printing. This
action will bypass the ink level detection from the recycled
cartridge. It will not damage the printer! With a recycled
cartridge this action needs to be done one time.
A full recycled cartridge ink level may not display correctly.
It may show empty.
If you want to check the ink level, you can do a “Nozzle
check” by following the directions below:
Go to menu File select print click on “Property” click
on “Maintenance”
Click on “Nozzle check” to print out the color check.
Click on “Cartridge Alignment” to align the cartridge.
